COMMERCIAL PILOT
Hello peeps. Long time i haven't posted anything in this blog.
Well, a few things had happened and i need to tell every single thing before I go back to school tomorrow.
I'll make separate posts because this is going to be a VERY LONG one :)
Firstly, I wanted to tell about my not so sweet journey to AirAsia Academy for the SBP Career Day.
right, a month before the competition, Zethy, Lubna, Fatin and I gathered together to talk about our career options, and yes, we chose commercial pilot.
fast forward two weeks before the competition, we received the criteria's for the competition. oh yes, i tergamam kejap. -_-
there was a lot to be done. then, suddenly, Fatin was admitted to the hospital. not a very good start.
so, me, lubna and zeth got started with our work.
there was a lot to be done, especially the communication part.
apparently, we did't know any female pilots to be interviewed.
so, with the help of GOOGLE ( i love the person who created google, seriously) zethy and I searched for contacts. lubna was trying to contact with her cousin who is a pilot, but, unfortunately, he is a Male, so, we pushed him aside, just for a little while. so, zethy got the contacts, and i emailed and contacted the particular person. unfortunately, we didn't get any respond. then, suddenly, one fine day, lubna's cousin gave the number of a female pilot, and it turns out she was the person we've been searching for. so, i called her, and she agreed to do an interview with our team :)
but then, the person had a flight to somewhere and i called after we got back. apparently, she called in sick. so, we searched for another pilot, and got an email, called, but, she was sick as well. :'( i was on the verge of breaking down, but i held on.
later that night, (it was 3 days away from the competition), tried calling a few more female pilots and zeth called the manager of AirAsia. unfortunately for us, we didn't get anyone as well.
due to frustration, after praying to Allah, I cried on Ili's lap.
later that night, we burnt the midnight oil, and made the Emerald's 2nd floor study room our port. luckily, the female pilot ( who called in sick earlier), pitied us and agreed to do an interview at One Utama.
the next morning, after Biology Class, Cikgu Zila called me to the counselling room. I went there with Zeth, and apparently, the AirAsia manager had arranged us and appointment with a female pilot. *sigh*
finally. i almost cried with joy. alhamdullilah.
i prayed my thanks to Allah. the interview was going to be held at AirAsia Academy at Sepang the next morning. :)
yes, zeth, lubna and I were really excited :)))))))
THE NEXT DAY- INTERVIEW, NGEE~
yes, excited :)
after doing my duties, went to the lobby :)
played with the camera and stuff.
when we finally reached there, we were SUPER DUPER excited.
ngehehhehe.
took lots of pictures here and there. then, we finally met our pilot, Miss Illyaquila Fateen Ismail, a co-pilot.
we were very impressed with her, really.
she's tall, pretty, and she has this sort of charisma in her, that anyone who actually passing by, were really in awe of her.
so, she greeted us, and brought us on a tour. we went to the stimulator, which was REALLY cool. i swear, it's like being in an arcade, with lots of buttons, but it was the real deal :)
then, we got to meet a few captains along the way, learnt new things about pilots and their ways.
huhu. hell lot of fun :)
really want to thank AirAsia for giving us this opportunity of a life time and to Miss Illyaquila who had spent her precious time, with us kids. :)
later, in the afternoon, after getting back to school, went to the Counselling Room, and got started with my video.
yes, it was a tough job, getting it readied in 2 days, but I tried my best. Lubna, did the brochure and zethy edited the whole folio.
fast forward to 6th of July (a day before the competition), still haven't printed out the folio, video's 50 percent done and yes, our head's were spinning round, like crazy people.
that night, after the isya' prayers, headed straight to 1U with the printer and laptop's and edited and stuff.
after 12.00 am, we still haven't finished anything.
so, decided to go back to the dorm and finished everything.
finished video at about 3 o'clock and yes, and still haven't printed anything, and lubna was trying really hard to finish up with the slide.
later, tried to stay up, but dozed off for about half an hour. zethy was trying really hard to print everything. then, finally, at 7.30 in the morning, we finished everything.
*sigh*
the story is actually longer, but, i don't have the strength to tell every single thing that has happened, but you got the picture.
it was tiring, and nerve wrecking. with only one word, you can trigger the tears and frustration of us three, but, surprisingly, we held on longer than we thought we could.
2 weeks of headaches, ignored friends and homeworks, not getting enough sleep, we produced something which is really, okay.
really proud of our team. and to Fatin Nur Syahirah, you did your part at home as well. we understood that you were really sick, but you did the model, which is okay :)
so, peeps, nothing is impossible.
try your best in everything you do :)
well, here's the pics of our interview and the video :) enjoy
Miss Aquila :)
